Welcome to Jobbyz
Jobbyz keeps four things together: the companies you are watching, the people you know, the interactions you have with those people, and the applications you are working on. You can run all of it by hand — AI agents are optional.
Two rules worth remembering: an interaction always belongs to a person, and an application always sits in exactly one lane. Everything else follows from that.
Get to know Jobbyz
Your first five minutes
- Add a company you want to keep an eye on, with + Add company on the Companies page.
- Add a person with + Add person on Network, and link them to that company.
- Log an interaction on that person — use + Log interaction, or the ✚ next to their name. Interactions are always recorded against a person, never against a company or an application on its own.
- Give that person a follow-up date. Fill in Follow up by on their page; tick No follow-up when there is nothing to chase.
- Add an application with + Add application, and put it in the lane it belongs in.
Follow-up dates are your reminders
The follow-up date is what makes the Dashboard and the Pipeline useful. When a person’s date arrives, they surface in Needs attention on the Dashboard and near the top of the Pipeline, so nobody quietly drops off your list. Log the interaction, set the next date, and they come back when it is time.
Find your way around
- Dashboard — follow-ups needing attention, your applications, focus companies and recent activity. An empty account simply starts empty.
- Search — finds your people, companies, applications and logged activity.
- Pipeline — everyone in your network, ranked for follow-up.
- Activity log — a chronological record of every interaction you logged.
- Network and Companies — the people and organisations behind all of that, and how they are linked.
- Applications — the four lanes below, plus Application profile for the resumes and cover letters you apply with.
- Account — sync, backup and restore, and this guide.
A backup is a snapshot of contacts, companies, applications and activity. It is not a general contact import, and it does not include agent leads, profiles or resume files. Restoring replaces current CRM data.
Work with applications
Every application sits in exactly one of four lanes. You can add one yourself at any time with + Add application; an AI agent can also drop new ones into To review for you.
- To review — your big bucket. Everything you or an agent found lands here for evaluation. Nothing has been sent.
- Shortlisted — your preparation lane: the roles you actually intend to apply to. Press Shortlist on a card in To review to move it here.
- Submitted — applications you have actually sent. Track interviewing, offer, won and other outcomes here.
- Closed — dropped or rejected, kept for context and reopenable when circumstances change.
Set up your application profile
Before you start shortlisting, set up at least one application profile. A profile is a named combination of one resume and one cover-letter template. Create a single profile, or several — for example one per role family, or one per language.
What to create
- Upload a resume (PDF). It is stored privately in your own account.
- Add a cover-letter template and write the body you want to reuse.
- Add a profile, give it a label, and pick that resume and that template as its defaults.
Dynamic fields in your cover letter
A cover-letter template understands two placeholders. They sit as chips just above the template body, so you can insert them with one click:
{{company}}— Company name{{job_title}}— Job title
Put them anywhere in the letter. When you select the profile on an application, Jobbyz replaces them with that role’s real company and title, so each letter reads as though it was written for that specific job.
Then: shortlist and prepare
Once your profile is saved you are ready to start shortlisting:
- In To review, press Shortlist on a role you want to pursue. It moves to Shortlisted.
- In Shortlisted, press Review to open the role.
- Press ✎ Edit on the Review card, then choose the Profile and the Resume version to use.
- Check the Cover letter. Selecting a profile fills it from that profile’s template with the company and job title already substituted; edit it or replace it entirely.
- Save the changes. The role is prepared.
To apply by hand, open the posting through the Link ↗ on the card (or the URL saved on the application), submit it on the company’s own site, then press Mark as applied in Jobbyz so it moves to Submitted with the right bookkeeping.
Onboarding for AI agents
An AI agent is not something Jobbyz runs for you. It runs on your own computer, signs in to your own Jobbyz account, and works through the same lanes you just read about. It does not run in the background or in the cloud, so your computer has to stay open and running while it works.
What you need first
- A supported local agent installed on your own computer — Codex or Claude Code.
- Its browser extension installed and connected to your browser. Without it the agent cannot open job sites, fill in forms or upload your resume.
- Being signed in, in that same browser, to the job boards you want it to use.
- An application profile ready to go (Part 3) — the apply flow uses its resume and cover letter.
The two flows
- Search and import. The agent scans job sites and your target companies, scores what it finds, and imports the results into To review in your account. It does not write application text and never submits anything.
- Apply to shortlisted. The agent takes your Shortlisted roles, opens each posting, fills the form with your selected resume and cover letter, and — after you approve that one application — submits it and moves it to Submitted.
Start small the first time. Run one scan with a narrow target profile, look at what actually lands in To review, and apply to a single role before you let an agent work through a batch.
Choose the right agent
- Codex scans and imports. It finds vacancies, collects and scores information, then imports leads into To review. It does not write application text or submit jobs.
- Claude Code applies. It works through shortlisted roles using your own materials. You approve every individual final submission.
Download your starter material
These are starter guides for a hosted Jobbyz account. Download them to a private local folder. Never put a token, resume, applicant file or someone else’s account details into this app, a shared repository or a chat.
Connect, scan and import
- Sign in to Jobbyz with your own email and confirm the account.
- Copy and personalise the Codex target profile. Use the scanner’s local setup to authenticate with your own one-time email code.
- Run its connection check, then a small dry run. Review the report before a real import.
- Open To review in Jobbyz, inspect each role, and shortlist only the roles you want to pursue.
Imports are account-specific and preserve existing lead status and notes. CAPTCHA, login walls and rate limits require you to handle them; an agent must not bypass them.
Prepare and submit shortlisted jobs
- Make sure the shortlisted role has the profile, resume and cover letter you want (Part 3).
- Copy the applicant template to a private
applicant.mdand fill in only facts you are willing to use in applications. - Run Claude’s
/apply-shortlisted --dry-runfirst. It only triages roles; it does not apply. - For a live run, review the exact role, materials and wording. Give explicit approval for that one final submission.
Claude must not create job-board accounts, solve CAPTCHAs or mark a role applied before success is verified. After a verified submission, use Jobbyz’s own Mark as applied action.
No applications to review.
